The Roadhouse Foundation was established in 2022 by the esteemed Roadhouse Group, marking their 30th year of hospitality excellence. This initiative, unveiled at Mezze by Roadhouse in an event collaboration with the Museum of Nepali Arts (MoNA), aimed to empower marginalized youth through education and skill development in the hospitality industry. Supported by contributions from pizza sales the Foundation seeks to create positive change in communities across Nepal, embodying a commitment to social responsibility and compassion.

How was it formed?

The esteemed Roadhouse Group established the Roadhouse Foundation in the momentous year of 2022, commemorating the 30th year of unparalleled service in the hospitality sector. Since its humble beginnings in 1992 with the classic Roadhouse Cafe nestled in the heart of Thamel, Kathmandu, the Roadhouse Group has remained an undisputed beacon of excellence in the realm of hospitality, consistently setting new standards and redefining the guest experience.

Guided by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to fostering positive change in society, the Roadhouse Foundation stands as a testament to the group’s unwavering dedication to social responsibility and community development. When was it formed?

A very special CSR Project of the Roadhouse Group, the Roadhouse Foundation was unveiled on September 8th, 2022, at Mezze by Roadhouse, Durbarmarg, in collaboration with the Museum of Nepali Arts (MoNA). This event fused art and philanthropy, showcasing curated artworks to be exhibited and sold at select Roadhouse outlets.

On September 8th, 2022, the Roadhouse Group unveiled its special CSR initiative, the Roadhouse Foundation, at Mezze by Roadhouse in Durbarmarg. Collaborating with the Museum of Nepali Arts (MoNA), the inauguration event perfectly merged art and philanthropy, highlighting Roadhouse Group’s commitment to social responsibility. Curated artworks, carefully selected to reflect Nepal’s rich heritage, took center stage, captivating guests and promising to make a meaningful impact on the community.

At the heart of the unveiling was a celebration of Nepali art’s transformative power and the Roadhouse Group’s dedication to empowering marginalized youth. Each artwork on display told a unique story, inviting guests to explore the intricate tapestry of Nepali artistry and tradition. The event not only showcased carefully curated artworks but also set the stage for their exhibition and sale at select Roadhouse outlets, creating a dynamic fusion of art and philanthropy.

How do we support?

In a powerful display of solidarity, Roadhouse has pledged to make a meaningful impact through its philanthropic efforts. For every pizza sale, the company has committed to donating Rs. 5, a gesture matched by equivalent contributions from the Roadhouse Group. This collective commitment ensures that each slice of pizza sold contributes directly to the Foundation’s initiatives, amplifying the reach of its programs aimed at empowering marginalized youth.

Chandan Kayestha, Managing Director and Co-Founder of the Roadhouse Group, expressed the Foundation’s ethos, rooted in three decades of hospitality excellence. The Foundation is dedicated to giving back to the community, particularly by supporting education and skill development for marginalized youth in the hospitality industry.

Drawing inspiration from the three-decade long journey within the hospitality sector, the Roadhouse Group has come to realize the critical importance of supporting education and skill development within the industry. Through this initiative, the core aim is to empower marginalized youth by offering vocational training and skill enhancement opportunities. Roadhouse Foundation seeks to not only enable them to envision but also enable them to envisage and forge a brighter future for themselves and their families.
